SHS was

string orchestra and specialty ensembles like “Ocean Spray” steel drum band.
The Instrumental
music program members also have lettermen in many sports that include captains
and team leaders for sports and academic teams.
The
instrumental music program at Sequoyah High School is the umbrella organization
for 2 concert bands, string orchestra, marching band, steel drum band,
S.H.A.P.E. (SHS Artistic Percussion Ensemble), jazz band and brass and woodwind
ensembles. The Symphony and Symphonic Bands have participated in GMEA
Festival/LGPE performances for 17 consecutive years earning 29 Superior ratings
since the school opened in 1990.
